How Does Purpose Relate to the Meaning of Life?
We, you and I, are consciousness. It is an awareness of our internal and external environment, and without Purpose, we lack a reference point or an ability to value this life. So Purpose is integral to life, and it helps us understand and make sense of why we are here, living in a physical realm. So why do we choose to suffer?
Ginge’s Question
In all honesty, I recognize that my way of seeing the world is not everyone's cup of tea, especially when most enjoy drinking coffee. That is to say, I appreciate everyone's perspective and do my best not to dictate that things should be the way I see them. If what I have to offer calls to you, great. If not, that is great also. I am also very aware that you were on this trip mainly because of a personal experience with a dolphin and maybe me. I hope this introduction will help make sense of how I answered Ginge's question.
Spiritual Chameleons
Writing Forty Four Prayers was spiritually cathartic for me. At a time of world lockdown, I, like billions of people, we're encouraged to go within. It was an excellent opportunity to embrace the truth of who I am rather than dance in a growing maelstrom of online conjecture. Something happened, though, neither surprising nor unexpected. With each door I unlocked, I saw myself Spiritually naked before everything I loved, on a level that was both familiar and yet so broad it felt like a new experience. I also found it interesting that my January 2020 blog was about "Seeing Clearly," a wordplay on seeing 20/20. I had no idea how true it would become.
Broken People Heal Broken People
Let's be honest some failures can be soul-crushing. It is only natural for someone going through the process to want to withdraw, to run away. This is why it takes another Broken person who intimately knows what pain feels like, to talk to the wounded. To help them heal. They also know that wounded people are very sensitive, and they are also very truthful and humble. Their pain has made them genuine and because they have nothing to lose, they have everything to gain.
Clearly Not Seeing Clearly
You are about to read this sentence and these words, and for the most part it must seem pretty straightforward. Imagine reading this one sentence aloud, then finding out after ward that what you read isn’t quite what was written? Now consider that everything you ever thought you were reading may have been different from what others were reading? Welcome to my life, for I have just come to understand I am dyslexic.
Seeing Clearly and the Illusions of Self
What a year.
In order for change to occur there must be a need for that change, or a misalignment revealed. Nature, our greatest teacher, is all about transforming one thing to another, static to dynamic, dynamic to static, ebb and flow. Change as we all know is inevitable. So as I reflect on the nature of this past year for me, it has been about seeing any illusions I may have had about myself. Like all things spiritual, it would seem that my outside world was definitely reflected my work.
The Observer
The Observer.
Imagine you are sitting upon your meditation cushion, your eyes, in a soft downward gaze watching the world and everything in it. You are free of being influenced by the world, or needing to alter events occurring within it. As you sit, witnessing life play out, you notice the subtle shifts in your breath, indicating when something has caught your attention.
Two Pieces of Chocolate Cake
In my many journeys within the Tree of Life, I have become aware of infinite capability. In seeing the potential of this awareness, I am also shown where I am restricting myself. The lesson it would seem is to establish what is true.

Scholastically, my report cards were always a source of great disappointment. Yet in 1969 something happened that excited a world of possibilities in my young teenage mind, the Ontario Science Centre opened. It is very true that when the student is ready, a teacher always appears. One of mine, as it would turn out, was a large building full of science. So enamoured was I, that every Saturday for 32 weeks I went to the Science Centre.
Hello, I know it's been a while.
Have you noticed how long it's been since we started a phone call, text or email that way? Here, now in the fourth month of knowing about this fast spreading virus, and just over a month since the WHO (World Health Organization), declared it a Pandemic, we have more time to talk. What we talk about is a global conversation.
April 17th 2019
As I write to you, today it is April 17th 2019. Today is significant for me as it is my 100th straight day of Ceremony this year. On this morning, after waking at 2:30am and completing my morning preparations for the day, I chose to listen to Yo-Yo Ma play the Unaccompanied Cello Suite No.1 in G Major by Johann Sebastian Bach.
Thank God for the Tree.
I love this statue, and laughed out loud when I saw it. I appreciate how it would take nothing for him to shrug off the load, yet he remains and keeps it perfectly balanced. Whatever his motivation, he is there by choice and maintaining balance under load.
The Light Will Always Find Us.
I have enjoyed many Christmas' on my own, especially after experiencing the first one. I recognize how, to many, it may seem odd. Whatever perceived hardships I initially endured, the benefits have outweighed any perceived loss. Being alone offered me, without compromise, a wondrous truth about how to celebrate love and my life on my own. Which is fascinating because I am sure that was not my initial thoughts.
Beyond the Event
After every life event, no matter how grand or subtle, there are ripples. Of course in life there are many events, many ripples. In the Tree of Life I have learned that whether an experience is uplifting or something less than so, how I choose to accept those events will resonate through my love and friend circles, and ultimately into my future.
Places to call Home
The world over, in every town and city there are famous households. They stand as a testament to the people, the Stewards that once called them home. Tourists come from all over to enter these buildings in hopes of glimpsing, if only for an hour or so, the lives of people like Nostradamus, William Lyon Mackenzie and Abraham Lincoln. What is it about these homes that people hope to experience? I wonder if these famous people saw them as friends, as I do?

There are moments in our life when community joins together to share their exceptional gifts, all in support of another person. August 17th was such a day for me.
2020, The Year Of Seeing Clearly
We humans consider ourselves the most intelligent animals on earth. Our competitive nature also encourages us to compare ourselves with earth bound beings to see how smart we are. As such, we now regard Dolphins as the next smartest. Considering how much we pat ourselves on the back and applaud the Dolphins, we humans have yet to be able to talk freely to and completely understand dolphins, even though we both have well-established languages. True, we are getting better. Yet it’s taken us thousands of years to get as far as we have. Which seems reasonable considering how difficult it is for humans to talk with other humans of different backgrounds.
